An officer working at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Anne Arundel County admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with an incarcerated person, the Attorney General's Office announced. Ajee Xavier Myers, who has served as a Correctional Dietary Officer for three years, pleaded guilty to misconduct in office following an investigation into her conduct earlier this month. A 20-year-old man who admitted to a fatal stabbing during a drug deal in Montgomery County will have plenty of time to think about his crime. Silver Spring resident Dakari Thomas has been sentenced to 25 years with all but 12 years suspended after admitting to killing Getro Marius Benamna in December 2021 during a botched marijuana sale. An elaborate smuggling conspiracy at the Jessup Correctional Institution that could have been taken from the pages of a movie script has been broken up, Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown announced. Teen Murderer Sentenced For Death Of 33-Year-Old Father Of Six In Maryland
An 18-year-old has been sentenced for his role in the murder of a father of six less than a week before Christmas last year in Montgomery County, according to the state's attorney's office. Bethesda resident Joshua Wright was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 14 to life in prison with all but 40 years suspended for the murder of Lawrence Wilson, Jr., 33, on Dec. 19, 2021, in Montgomery County.
