Some residents in Prince George's County had to grin and bear it this morning when an unexpected visitor came to town. A massive black bear took in the sights in Hyattsville on Thursday morning, causing both fascination and fear for some homeowners who spotted it making the rounds. A Maryland Catholic high school was placed into lockdown on Monday afternoon, according to police in Prince George's County. The Hyattsville Police Department issued an alert at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, advising that the DeMatha Catholic High School on Madison Street has been placed into its lockdown protocol. Orphaned Siblings Who Lost Parents In Weekend Maryland Crash Get Big Boost
A Maryland community is coming together to support siblings whose parents were killed in a crash over the weekend. More than $200,000 had been raised for the children of Charlene "Charlie" and Kyle Savage as of Tuesday, May 24, the Facebook fundraiser reads.
