The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) is mourning the tragic loss of Master Firefighter Christopher J. Higgins, who died in the line of duty over the weekend while responding to a house ire in Prince George's County. Higgins, a 23-year veteran of the MCFRS, was operating Truck 715 out of Burtonsville when he suffered a medical emergency while throwing ladders at a structure fire on Bradford Drive. A teacher in Maryland who allegedly left her classroom to sell drugs to people on school property is facing charges for distributing a fatal dose of fentanyl, according to federal authorities. Sarah Katherine Magid, 34, has been charged with distributing fentanyl that resulted in serious bodily injury and the death of a victim, according to a criminal complaint that was unsealed this week in District Court. The coyote believed to have attacked two women in Montgomery County was shot and killed on Thursday, March 28, officials said. The coyote attacked one woman walking her dog in the 1400 block of Patuxent Drive, near the Watershed Park in Gaithersburg around 9:45 a.m., county police said.
