New details have been released by the Prince George's County Police Department a week after a stabbing that left a 41-year-old man with fatal cut wounds. College Park resident Francisco Ayala Alvarenga, 39, is facing multiple murder charges in connection to a stabbing that was reported in Beltsville earlier this week that left Alejandro Vasquez-Cordova, who has no fixed address, dead. Woman Shot At Business Near University Of Maryland: Police
Police are investigating an overnight shooting at a business near the University of Maryland, College Park Campus on Tuesday, March 12. Officers responded to investigate reports of an off-campus assault with a weapon at a business on the 9000 block of Baltimore Avenue around 3:50 a.m. Police found that a woman had been shot by a suspect who fled in a vehicle. An investigation has been launched in Prince George's County after a woman was robbed off-campus at the University of Maryland by a group of men wielding rifles. At least 27 people suffered various injuries after a University of Maryland bus crashed into a pole on Wednesday morning, shutting down a major roadway. Officials say that around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, first responders were called to the area of Baltimore Avenue and University Boulevard in College Park after the bus struck a light pole and left more than two dozen people with injuries. Pedestrian Found Dead On Side Of I-495 In College Park
A fatal pedestrian crash on I-495 has shut down several lanes in College Park, authorities say. Maryland State Troopers noticed the crash around 2 p.m., Friday, April 14 after seeing two vehicles parked on the shoulder. The collision occurred in the area of southbound I-495 near Baltimore Avenue, according to Maryland State Police. Troopers were able to locate the victim on the shoulder of the road and pronounced them dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.

Three New Wawa Stores Coming To Maryland
Three new Wawa stores are headed to Maryland, with two set to open up in the coming weeks. The popular food market and gas station will open up two locations this spring and another this summer. A store on Baltimore Avenue in College Park as well as a store on Brooks Drive in District Heights will open to customers in the coming weeks, according to Wawa. Maryland State Police are investigating an early-morning fatal crash that happened in Prince George’s County on Sunday, Feb. 27. The female victim, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MDSP.
