Police have made an arrest in the murder of a Maryland convenience store owner earlier this month.
Anthony Edward Stevens, 48, of Capitol Heights, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, Prince George’s Police announced Friday, March 22.
Detectives believe Stevens attacked Mohammad Hanif, 50, of Annandale, VA, while stealing items from his store on the 900 block of Larchmont Avenue in Capitol Heights on Tuesday, March 5.

One person has died from injuries sustained during a crash in Annandale last week, authorities said.
Eileen Garnett, 83, of Annandale, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash that occurred in Annandale around 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, Fairfax County Police said. Garnett died from her injuries on Wednesday, May 25, police said.
