Dive teams pulled a man from the Anacostia River after his car plunged into the water on Christmas Day. The call came in just before 2 p.m. at the 11th Street bridge, NBC Washington reports. Swimming in the Anacostia River will just have to wait. The highly-anticipated Anacostia River Splash set for Saturday, July 8, has been postponed due to a sewage overflow, officials said. The event was to celebrate the progress made in cleaning the river. Police in Prince George's County are investigating a reported teen stabbing that temporarily tied up traffic near a busy Hyattsville intersection.
