Racial, Homophobic Slurs, Obscene Drawings Found Tagged Near Maryland Playground: Police

Police in Anne Arundel County have launched an investigation after there was a series of hateful graffiti found in Annapolis.

Over the weekend, officers were called to the area of Greenbriar Lane and Pilot House Drive, where there were reports of at least nine areas in the neighborhood that had hateful graffiti believed to have been tagged on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The hate crime was discovered by a local resident the following morning.

According to police, the graffiti was found near the entrance of a community near Bywater Road and an area playground, and it included racial slurs, homophobic slurs, and obscene drawings and obscene language.

Investigators are now attempting to track down a suspect, and are encouraging anyone living in the area to check surveillance cameras to see if anything suspicious happened between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
