Anne Arundel County Police and Department of Social Services first received a report that Hector Rojo, 27, had sexually abused the minor victim on Oct. 22, 2020, according to Anne Arundel County Government officials.
The report stated that Rojo had moved into the home of the victim and had initially begun to touch her breasts and buttocks of the victim before progressing to rape over the course of two years of abuse.
“As adults, we have to be very cautious of individuals we bring into our homes and allow around children," said State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess. "We must also tell kids that they are in charge of their bodies so that they know when predatory adults are attempting to exploit them.
"Encouraging children to tell a trusted adult when something doesn’t seem right is the best way to protect our children from this kind of abuse."
Rojo was found guilty of his charges on June 17, 2022.
