Mercedes Driver Killed After Losing Control, Crashing SUV Into Tree In Maryland: Police

A driver was killed after failing to negotiate a tricky turn in Anne Arundel County on Monday morning, police say.

Officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were called at around 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 5 to investigate a reported single-vehicle crash on Brock Bridge Road south of River Bridge Way in Laurel.

According to officials, Duke Kepha Mwebi was driving a 2021 Mercedes GLC300 north along on Brock Ridge Road when he lost control and went off the right side of the roadway and into a tree.

The 41-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by Prince George's County paramedics. His body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Officials said there were no witnesses to the crash, which is being investigated by the department's Traffic Safety Section.
