Maryland Counties Having Technical Issues With 911 Calls

At least two locales in Maryland are having issues at their 911 call centers, officials are advising.

Alerts were issued in Washington and Anne Arundel counties on Tuesday, Aug. 22, as they dealt with technical difficulty involving emergency calls.

Both were still reporting outages as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

In Anne Arundel County, anyone who can't get through to report an emergency has been instructed to call (410) 222-0701 or text 9-1-1.

According to officials in Washington County, the Emergency Communication Center is having concerns receiving calls, and anyone with an immediate need can call (301) 791-1211.

No other counties were reporting issues on Tuesday afternoon.
