A woman who has spent the past year scamming pharmacies in multiple states out of prescription drugs is now wanted by police, authorities say.
Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating a prescription fraud case involving an unidentified suspect who has been using other people’s names to obtain medication since March 2024.
Police say the woman has fraudulently picked up prescriptions from at least six pharmacies, including Safeway and CVS locations in the District of Columbia, Arlington, Alexandria, and Kensington.
Surveillance photos show the suspect at pharmacy counters, but her identity remains unknown.
Officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying her.
Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.
