Kendrick McLellan, 26, has been identified by the Howard County Police Department as the person found dead early on Saturday morning in Columbia.
Shortly before 2:15 a.m. on Oct. 12, officers on patrol making routine area checks in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive in Columbia found McLellan dead in the driver's seat of a vehicle, police say.
He was struck several times.
According to the police, the circumstances of the shooting, including when it happened, remain unknown as of Monday, Oct. 14. Investigators also made note that there is no indication that it is connected to a non-fatal shooting later on Saturday in Elkridge.
The shooting remains under investigation.
A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for anyone with information leading to an arrest. Tipsters have been asked to contact the police by calling (410) 313-STOP.
