Wanted Man In Maryland Accused Of Brandishing Handgun Near Group In Montgomery County: Police

A man wanted for drug and traffic violations was arrested after brandishing a handgun in a Montgomery County neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to investigate a shooting report in the parking lot of the 9900 block of Ridgeline Drive in Gaithersburg shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Police say Zyree Keishon Niseir Wilson, 23, of Frederick, was seen brandishing the firearm near a group of men in the parking lot and fled with the others as the officers arrived.

Wilson was found near Ridgeline Drive and Watkins Mill Road and continued to run from officers until he was captured near the 10600 block of Stedwick Road.

A loaded handgun was found in Wilson’s waistband, police said.

A follow-up investigation determined that Wilson had been banned from possessing a firearm and that he had two active arrest warrants for drug and traffic offenses out of Frederick City.

He was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with obstructing and hindering and multiple handgun charges, including possession of a handgun, possessing a loaded handgun, illegally possessing a handgun and illegally possessing ammunition.

He was released on an unsecured $500 personal bond.
