Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Miles-Long Delays On I-495 Near I-270 In MoCo (Developing)

A busy stretch of I-495 in Montgomery County was flooded with traffic on Tuesday afternoon following a reported tractor-trailer crash near I-270.

An alert was issued shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 after crews responded to the westbound lanes at the I-270 Spur, resulting in multiple lane closures as the incident was investigated.

Traffic slowed to a crawl with vehicles only getting by in the left two lanes. Delays were estimated at approximately two miles on the interstate.
