More than a year after 19-year-old Justice T'Ziyan Elliott was shot and killed on a Metro Bus in Montgomery County, police say that they have apprehended a suspect. North Bethesda Pedestrian Killed By Train
A pedestrian died by suicide in a train strike Sunday evening, April 14 in Bethesda, WMATA officials said. The unidentified man walked beyond the end gate a the North Bethesda station and intentionally placed himself in the path of the train at approximately 8 p.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. Emergency personnel responded, however, there were no signs of life and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police ID 14-Year-Old Killed In Shooting At Metro Station In Northeast DC
New details have been released by the Metropolitan Police Department after a 14-year-old was shot and killed at a Metro station in Northeast DC on Thursday afternoon. Avion Evans has been identified by the agency as the teenager who was killed when a fight broke out on the platform of the Brookland-Catholic University Metro Station in the 800 block Monroe Street NE. The shooting was reported shortly before 4 p.m. on April 4. A teenage boy died after being shot at a Metro station in Northeast DC on Thursday afternoon, police confirmed. Officials say that a fight broke out on the platform of the Brookland-CUA Metro Station on Michigan Avenue late in the afternoon on April 4, during which at least one person began shooting. Some Metro riders in Southeast DC got a scare on Thursday afternoon after first responders evacuated a station and temporarily suspended service due to smoky conditions caused by a fire. Shortly after 1 p.m. on Feb. 15, DC Fire and EMS personnel reported that they were called to the Eastern Market Metro station, where there was smoke on the platform, officials say. Some commuters in DC are up in arms as the WMATA closes down certain Red Line trains to allow for necessary repairs during the holiday season. Metro Train Derails Near Reagan Airport With 50 Passengers On Board
Some travelers were left in a lurch on Friday morning when a train derailed near Reagan National Airport. Service was suspended temporarily on the Blue and Yellow lines on Friday, Sept. 29 as officials investigated a derailment that impacted at least 50 passengers who were on board at the time.
