Police ID Family Involved In Overnight Murder-Suicide In Maryland New details have been released by the Howard County Police Department after the patriarch of a family died at the hospital following a murder-suicide in Elkridge on Thursday night. Nayyar Abbas Syed, 61, the believed shooter, was pronounced dead at St. Agnes hospital overnight, according to officials, who also identified his other victims. Catonsville resident Kathleen Benedick died after she was found suffering from cardiac arrest inside a home in the 400 block of Lambeth Road that went up in flames.
