Speed or impairment may have been contributing factors in a fatal crash that sent two others to the hospital in Charles County on Monday afternoon, Maryland State Police say. Troopers were called at around 3 p.m. on April 22 to a stretch of Crain Highway near Acton Lane in Waldorf to investigate a two-vehicle crash that left one dead and required one to be airlifted to the hospital. A woman was killed over the weekend in a head-on crash by a speeding driver who was attempting to avoid a traffic stop in Carroll County. The Maryland Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation into a late night crash on Saturday in Eldersburg that left one person dead and three others with serious injuries. He can’t drive 55. A speeding driver is facing potential jail time after being busted driving double the speed limit in Fairfax County. An officer from the Sully District Station was able to track down a speeding driver who was clocked going 136 mph on Route 28 northbound near Frying Pan Road over the weekend, officials said. Police in Maryland on a special patrol got more than they bargained for when they busted a rider driving a stolen motorcycle, authorities announced. Washington, DC resident Darrell Allen Davidson, 35, was busted on the stolen ride by members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office during a planned safety and speed enforcement operation on Budds Creek Road.
