Felons Caught With Cache Of Weapons, Drugs During Yearlong Investigation In Maryland: Sheriff
Three felons are facing charges following an operation in Southern Maryland that led to the recovery of weapons, a massive amount of drugs, and cash, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office announced on Friday.
A yearlong investigation into reported drug sales in the region led to the arrests of the trio, and the seizure of cocaine, weed, pills, and weapons.
Those charged:
John Kevin Fitzgerald Reed, 60, of Charlotte Hall;
James Nathaniel Reed, 77, of Mechanicsville;
Francis Lavern Reed, 55, of Mechanicsville.
All are facing multiple felony drug and firearm charges.

An alert was issued by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, Aug. 6, as they seek the public's assistance in tracking down Derrick Clifton Marshall, 45, who pulled a fast one and is now wanted for escape.
The Lexington Park resident was arrested in March for first- and second-degree assault, as well as unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

Shooter Convicted Of Murdering Women In Their Maryland Home Over Drug Dispute: Prosecutors
It took a jury more than a week to convict a Maryland man of murdering a pair of women in Charles County, the state's attorney's office announced.
Deon Watkins, 51, has been found guilty for his role in the deaths of Kandeon Niravanh, 24, and Genesis Garrett, 22, both of Waldorf, in January 2021.
Charles County State's Attorney Tony Covington said that shortly before 1 a.m. on Jan. 21, 2021, officers were called to the 2400 block of Hanover Court in Waldorf, where there was a front door suspiciously left open in a neighborhood home.

An investigation has been launched after two people were found shot and killed in Southern Maryland.
Members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were called at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Friday, June 9, to the 2500 block of Lake Drive in Waldorf, where there was a reports of shots fired with at least one person down.
Upon arrival to the parking lot of an area apartment complex, investigators found Deangelo C’Quan Beale, 24, of Waldorf, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.
