The Maryland drug dealer who authorities said sold the fentanyl dose that killed a minor will avoid a lifetime in prison. Silver Spring's Mikiyas Maryie Kefyalew, also known as “Mick,” 24, was charged with the distribution of fentanyl that resulted in the death of teen Landen Hausman, of Bethesda, US Attorney Erek Barron announced. A loving father was trying to take in some Fourth of July fireworks over the holiday weekend when he was struck and killed by a stray bullet, according to his family. Cambridge resident Tyuane Johnson, Jr., 24, was an innocent bystander watching fireworks on Monday, July 4, when he got caught in the crossfire and was fatally hit by a bullet. A fatal Fourth of July homicide remains under investigation by state police after a 24-year-old man was fatally shot in Dorchester County, authorities said on Thursday, July 7. Cambridge resident Tyuane Johnson, Jr. was pronounced dead at the Dorchester General Hospital on Monday, July 4 after he was found with a gunshot wound by members of the Maryland State Police Department. Body Of Missing EU Delegate From Bethesda Found Two Months After Disappearance
The body of Sibylle Zitko, a missing EU delegate from Bethesda who was reported missing in January, has been found. Zitko, 54, went missing from the Lock 7 area of the C&O Canal around 6 a.m. on Jan. 6, the US Park Police originally reported. Her body was located after someone reported finding a woman’s body in the area of Lock 5 of the park on Friday, March 8, Bethesda Magazine reports. Man Dies In Severn House Fire
Fire officials are investigating a house fatal fire that claimed one life. Crews responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at a single-family home in Severn at around 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Upon arrival crews found one male occupant, estimated to be in 60s, dead inside the home. The fire had spread throughout both floors of the building and was under control in about 15 minutes, the department said.
