An investigation was launched in Calvert County over the weekend following complaints from neighbors about a potentially insensitive decoration that was leftover from Halloween, officials say. Members of the sheriff's office were called over the weekend to a home in Dunkirk, where there were reports from local homeowners about a "human-shaped object (that) had been seen hanging from a tree in the front yard of a residence." These Are The 'Spookiest Streets' In Maryland, Virginia: New Survey
Just in time for Halloween, a new survey has been released, and the DMV region is home to some of the country's "spookiest streets." A survey of 3,000 drivers conducted by Volkswagen determined which area roadways are ready for the holidays, headlined by Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow, a New York destination. Man Rang Doorbell, Forced Way Inside Maryland Home On Halloween Night, Police Say
A 23-year-old man in Montgomery County was arrested after doing too much tricking and not enough treating on Halloween night. Officers from the Rockville Police Department were called shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday night to a home in the unit block of Pebble Ridge Court, where a strange - and scary - scene played out involving an active armed robber who forced his way inside. Maryland State Police Increase Efforts To Stop Impaired Drivers Over Halloween Weekend
Maryland State Police are reminding drivers of the dangers of distracted and impaired driving, particularly throughout the Halloween weekend as children get ready to dress up to trick-or-treat. Additional troopers will be deployed throughout the state to concentrate enforcement efforts on impaired driving and other dangerous driving behaviors including speed, aggressive and distracted driving, according to the Maryland State Police.
