The man who terrorized his ex-girlfriend before barricading himself inside a Carroll County home is facing a series of criminal charges, the Westminster Police Department announced. Matthew Skirka, 30, was arrested early on Wednesday morning following a standoff with officers after he kicked down his ex's door following a confrontation earlier on Tuesday, Feb. 13. A masked man who stole cigarettes while demanding cash from a Carroll County gas station is facing a host of charges after being busted by police attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle, officials say. Baltimore resident Brian Magruder was apprehended following an incident reported on Sunday morning at Carroll Fuels on East Main Street in Westminster involving an ill-fated armed robbery. Maryland State Police authorities are offering a massive $100,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction in connection to a 2003 murder in Carroll County.
