An allegedly drunk driver is facing charges after hospitalizing a Maryland State Police trooper when he slammed into his cruiser on I-270 in Montgomery County on Sunday night. Troopers were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. on March 23 to the southbound lanes of the interstate near Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg, where there was a reported crash involving a trooper. A 23-year-old woman and 22-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle they were traveling in flipped over several times near the 1900 block of W.
