Officers exchanged gunfire with a wanted suspect on Tuesday morning before the man was apprehended inside a nearby building, police say. Shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, Metropolitan Police Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons said that officers responded to the 1700 block of Benning Road NE, where there were sounds of gunshots that rang out in the area. The Fairfax County police chief said the man who police killed Thursday night, July 7, had charged at officers with an "object" in his hand. Authorities have released the body camera footage from a fatal police involved shooting that happened last May in Maryland (scroll down for video). Ralph Picarello III, 39, was killed after charging at officers while armed with knives during a domestic disturbance call on Boundbrook Way in Essex on May 4, according to the Maryland Attorney General. A 9-1-1 caller told police that a man, later identified as Picarello, was throwing objects at family member inside the home. Harford County Sheriff's Office Releases Names Of Deputies Who Shot & Killed Suicidal Man
The names of the two Harford County Sheriff deputies who shot and killed a suicidal man in Forest Hill have been released. Sergeant Sives and Corporal Maddox are both on administrative leave after John Raymond Fauver, 53, was shot behind the CVS on Rock Spring Road on Saturday, April 23, the Harford County Sheriff's office said.
