Justice has been served for some communities in Maryland after suspects implicated in a string of hate crimes at area churches were arrested. Three people are in custody in Anne Arundel County after terrorizing places of worship throughout Odenton and Annapolis over the past several weeks, authorities announced on Thursday, June 29. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is attempting to locate three masked men who were caught on camera vandalizing a “Black Lives Matter” sign that was posted at an area church. Photos have been released by the police of vandals who targeted the Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church on Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton earlier this week. DC Police Officer Accused Of Lying About Leaks To Proud Boys Leader
A Metropolitan Police Department lieutenant with loose lips was arrested on Friday for allegedly lying about leaking confidential information to the far-right Proud Boy leaders, federal authorities announced. Shane Lamond, 47, of Stafford was indicted on charges that include obstruction of justice and three counts of making false statements on Friday, May 19, in connection to the destruction of a Black Lives Matter banner in December 2020. A Black police officer whose division patrols parks across Montgomery and Prince George’s counties has filed a lawsuit against his white female supervisor, and the commission he worked for, alleging racism and a hostile work environment.
