Rite Aid To Close These Maryland Stores After Filing For Bankruptcy
Rite Aid, the pharmacy giant that filed for bankruptcy on Sunday, Oct. 15, plans to close 154 underperforming stores nationwide, according to a new filing. Some of those closures will be in Maryland. An unconscious man enjoying a late-night cuddle with his handgun in Anne Arundel County is facing a host of charges after being busted asleep behind the wheel. A teenager was arrested after a hit-and-run with a stolen vehicle in Glen Burnie, officials say. Around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, an officer witnessed the 15-year-old suspect in a hit-and-run accident in the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, according to Anne Arundel County police. Investigators say that the striking vehicle, a white Kia Optima, stopped just beyond the intersection and the 15-year-old as well as another occupant attempted to flee the scene. One teen has been arrested and several are on the loose after an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in Glen Burnie over the weekend, authorities say. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy after finding him hiding underneath one of the crashed suspect vehicles shortly after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 18, according to Anne Arundel County police. Five suspects reportedly walked into the 7-Eleven located at 7753 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and demanded cash from the clerk after flashing at least two handguns. Maryland Man Arrested After Threatening Construction Workers In Road-Rage Incident
A Glen Burnie man has been arrested after driving through a construction site and threatening to kill workers, authorities say. Robert Evans Jr., 67, became irate and drove through a construction site nearly hitting workers in the area of Harriet Drive and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard around 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, according to Anne Arundel County Police. Initial investigation revealed that a worker followed Evans to get his license plate information after the incident, police said. Police ID Man Using Walker Killed By Hit-Run Car In Anne Arundel
A man using his walker to cross a Maryland street was struck and killed by a car that fled on Saturday, June 25, authorities said. Paul Haughee, 56, of Glen Burnie, was struck at Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and MD Route 10 around 2 a.m., Anne Arundel County Police Department said. Haughee was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing. It was unknown how long the pedestrian was in the roadway before being discovered by the passerby, who called 911. Haughee was pronounced dead at the scene.
