Knife-Wielding Man With History Of Violence Sentenced For Fatal Stabbing In Maryland A 20-year-old man who admitted to a fatal stabbing during a drug deal in Montgomery County will have plenty of time to think about his crime.  Silver Spring resident Dakari Thomas has been sentenced to 25 years with all but 12 years suspended after admitting to killing Getro Marius Benamna in December 2021 during a botched marijuana sale. Montgomery County State's Attorney John McCarthy said that on Dec. 7, 2021, Thomas and Benamna met at Startbucks in the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring for a shady drug transaction.
