Two men have been arrested in connection with killing a 19-year-old man from Silver Spring, authorities said.
Glen Ellis, 20, and Jose Angel Calderon Nolasco, 19, have been charged in the shooting death of Jahiem Rayquan Pinnock, Montgomery County Police said.
Police responded to several calls from people telling them that a male had been shot and the suspects fled the scene in the area of 1000 Good Hope Drive in Cloverly around 3:40 p.m., police said.
Upon arrival, officers found Pinnock suffering from an apparent gunshot in a residential parking lot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Ellis and Calderon Nolasco were later spotted driving their green Toyota sedan around the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Jackson Road in White Oak around 3:48 p.m., police said.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it sped off, ran a red light at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Lockwood Drive and continued driving. The vehicle soon came to a stop on Powder Mill Road after crossing the center median and damaging one of its tires, police said.
Both Calderon Nolasco where Ellis taken into custody and later charged with murder. They are also awaiting a bond hearing, police said.
However, the investigation is still ongoing and police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone with information. People can contact police at 240-773-5070 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
