MD Dad Killed Trying To Reconnect With Son Gunned Down At DC Youth Football Practice: Report

A 36-year-old dad was shot and killed in front of his son and his youth football team this week in Washington DC, according to police and NBC Washington.

D Angelo Taylor, of Suitland, MD, was watching his son's youth football practice when the gunman shot him on the 1500 block of Mississippi Avenue, Southeast, just before 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1according to Metropolitan Police and the news outlet.

First responders arrived to the scene after reports of a shooting where they found Taylor unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A relative told NBC Washington that Taylor was trying to reconnect with his 11-year-old son, which is why he went to practice.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
