Person 'Clinging To Rock' In Potomac River Rescued In Montgomery County

Multiple agencies worked together on Wednesday morning to rescue a person who found themselves in a perilous position in the Potomac River.

Early on Aug. 7, US Park Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel teamed up to make a water rescue after a swimmer got stuck.

According to officials, boats, helicopters, and land crews were all involved in the rescue near the C&O Canal Lock 8 and Wades Island.

One person was rescued and taken out of the water, where they were evaluated by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.
