Three Injured In School Bus Crash With Minivan Near Montgomery County School

Three people were hospitalized - one critically - after a minivan smashed into the back of a school bus in Montgomery County on Thursday morning.

Montgomery Fire and Rescue personnel were called on Thursday, March 23 to a stretch of Mid County Highway near Washington Grove Lane when the van struck an unoccupied bus near Shady Grove Middle School, leaving the driver trapped inside, according to officials.

The driver was extricated and three people were transported to area hospitals for treatment and evaluation of various injuries.

It is unclear what caused the crash or if speed was a factor. It remains under investigation on Thursday afternoon.
