Rescue teams were called to assist rescuing the pup, affectionately known as Sammy, from the home on Kersey Road on the evening of Monday, Feb. 20, according to a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson.
The dog had fallen into a deck footer hole that was around six to seven feet deep, and two-feet wide for approximately an hour before rescue officials arrived to make the save.
Officials said that the daring rescue operation took around half an hour and Sammy was reunited safely with his family, slightly spooked, but otherwise in good spirits..
