A 24-year-old Maryland woman is facing federal charges following her arrest for sexual offenses involving a child in Maryland after state police released photos of her and tipsters stepped up, authorities announced. Capitol Hills resident Verena May Mathis was indicted this week for crimes that include the sexual exploitation of a child and for sex trafficking the minor, according to prosecutors on Thursday.
