One person was reportedly killed in a “serious vehicle collision” at a busy Maryland intersection, according to police. Officers from the Hagerstown Police Department in Washington County responded to the intersection of Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, where there was a reported crash that was backing up traffic. According to a report, three people suffered injuries in the crash, with one pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. A protest demonstration that stopped traffic on a Washington D.C. street resulted in the arrest of 35 people, including 17 Members of Congress, authorities say. Demonstrators began blocking traffic on First Street NE shortly after 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, according to US Capitol Police. Helicopter Lands On I-395 To Assist Officer, Driver Captures It All
Everything is a landing site during an emergency. A medivac pilot proved that on Wednesday, July 6, after they landed a helicopter on Interstate 395 to rescue a police officer. Park police requested the helicopter to rescue a motorcycle officer who'd crashed on Maine Avenue, WJLA said. A US Park Police pilot had no choice but to land on I-395 around 6:30 p.m. to whisk the officer away to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tree And Debris Removal Will Require Day-Long Bridge Closure In Maryland
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT) announced that a busy bridge will be closed for several hours this week to allow contracting crews to clear the area of debris.
