An alert was issued shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 after crews responded to the westbound lanes at the I-270 Spur, resulting in multiple lane closures as the incident was investigated. Massive Pile Of Trash Dumped In Parking Lot Goes Up In Flames, Closes Down Maryland Roadway Montgomery County Officials have put out a traffic alert after roadways were blocked in an effort to extinguish a large pile of burning trash dumped in a parking lot, authorities say. The massive pile of garbage was dumped in a parking lot in the 5000 block of Nicholson Lane between Nebel Street and Boiling Brook Parkway, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials.  A trash truck also reportedly caught fire, resulting in Nicholson lane being blocked in both directions between Nebel Street and Bolingbrook Parkway.  It is unclear when the lanes will reopen.
