11-Year-Old Killed As Flames Rip Through Maryland Home Overnight, Officials Say An early morning fire tore through a Maryland home, killing an 11-year-old child and leaving a family devastated, officials said. At around 4:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, fire crews from the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding companies rushed to a house fire on the 31600 block of Zion Road, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
