Downed Power Lines Shut Down I-95 In DMV, Causing Major Fredericksburg Delays: VDOT Traffic on I-95 in Virginia came to a total standstill Monday after downed power lines forced the closure of all northbound and southbound lanes near Fredericksburg, according to VDOT. Just before 1 p.m. on Monday, June 16, the Virginia Department of Transportation confirmed that I-95 was fully shut down at Exit 130 (Route 3) due to fallen lines across the highway. Both northbound and southbound traffic was detoured around the area, backing up miles in both directions and bringing freight and commuter traffic to a halt. Fatal Four-Vehicle Crash On Route 1 Under Investigation In Maryland (Developing) A Route 1 crash involving four vehicles killed one driver and hospitalized two others on Tuesday night, Feb. 6, police said. The crash occurred just north of Country Meadows Lane in Laurel shortly before 9:45 p.m., according to the Howard County Police Department. A 1995 Chevy 1500 was heading northbound when it crossed the median and struck a southbound 2007 Pontiac Solstice. The Pontiac then hit a 2022 Hyundai Accent, while debris from the crash hit a 2022 Toyota Camry.
