It was a busy weekend for Maryland State Police Aviation Command crews. A pair of mountain bikers had to be rescued and airlifted to area hospitals after finding themselves in perilous positions during separate incidents Howard County and West Virginia that required state police intervention. Woman Rescued By First Responders After Getting Trapped Under Metro Train In Friendship Heights
Officials say a woman was hospitalized after getting rescued when she found herself in a precarious position during rush hour. An incident involving a person under a metro train was announced at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 when a pedestrian required a rescue after becoming stuck under a train at the Friendship Heights station, according to a DC Fire and EMS spokesperson. A hiker had to be rescued in Maryland after falling down a slippery slope and injuring himself near a remote Maryland railroad bridge. First responders in Montgomery County were dispatched at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 19 to the CSX Railroad tracks between Waring Station and Great Seneca Street, where there was a report of a hiker who had fallen near Railroad Bridge in Germantown.
