A Washington, DC man has admitted to gunning down a woman in broad daylight on a busy street in Southeast DC, officials announced. Johnwann Elliott, 31, pleaded guilty on Dec. 16 to second-degree murder while armed and attempted assault with a dangerous weapon for the 2022 killing of 37-year-old Nikia Young, the US Attorney's Office said. Several lanes were temporarily blocked in Montgomery County on Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash sent one through a bus stop in Hillandale. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Chalmers Road at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 9, where there was a crash involving two vehicles, officials said. All MTA Metro Subway stations will be closed to allow the organization to test a new Communications Based Train Control system that should be fortuitous for travelers following the closure. A teenager was wounded in a Northwest DC Metro train shooting that happened during the height of the morning rush hour on Friday, Oct. 28, NBC4 Washington reports.
