Woman Found Shot Dead In Prince George's Apartment A woman was shot and killed inside of a Prince George's apartment Thursday, July 7, authorities said. Police performing a welfare check at the 2000 block of Oglethorpe Street in Chillum found the victim unresponsive around 4:50 p.m., the PGPD said. The woman was pronounced dead on scene. No further details were released.

A medivac pilot proved that on Wednesday, July 6, after they landed a helicopter on Interstate 395 to rescue a police officer.  Park police requested the helicopter to rescue a motorcycle officer who'd crashed on Maine Avenue, WJLA said. A US Park Police pilot had no choice but to land on I-395 around 6:30 p.m. to whisk the officer away to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The impromptu landing caused a traffic back up and cars stopped on the other side of the interstate to watch this rare sight. Body Found In Elkridge Hotel Room Sparks Homicide Investigation Detectives are investigating what they believe to be a suspected homicide after finding a body in an Elkridge hotel room, authorities say. The man’s body was found around 8 a.m. in an Econo Lodge hotel room in the 5800 block of Bonnie View Lane, Howard County officials said. While the cause of the death is currently unknown, investigators suspect foul play. Police do not believe that this was a random incident and have taken a subject into custody.
