Same Armed Suspect Hits Two Maryland Banks In Six Days, Police Say
Detectives are searching for an armed suspect behind a string of bank robberies in Montgomery County and are asking for the public’s help after releasing new surveillance photos.
The first heist happened at M&T Bank on Montgomery Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, according to Montgomery County Police.
Investigators say the suspect walked in, placed a handgun on the counter, and demanded cash, and the teller handed over the money, and the man fled with an undisclosed amount.

A man who recently completed his sentence following a plea deal with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for six armed robberies — was indicted on March 20 following a second robbery spree of five more businesses, Palmyra police announced on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Mark Shane Herrick, now 47, of Hanover, was first arrested by the FBI in 2009 for robbing the following businesses while armed with a tire iron or crowbar:
