Police ID Popular 70-Year-Old Teacher Killed In Baltimore County Townhome Fire A beloved teacher has been identified as the 70-year-old woman killed in a Baltimore County house fire on Tuesday afternoon. Catonsville resident Kathleen Benedick died after she was found suffering from cardiac arrest inside a home in the 400 block of Lambeth Road that went up in flames. Crews from the Baltimore County Fire Department were called to the home at around 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 23, where they were met by smoke coming from the front of the residence, and were advised that there was someone unaccounted for. Funeral Services, Tribute Set For Police K9 Who Died In Line Of Duty In MD Special services have been arranged for a police K9 in Maryland who died while serving his community. Earlier this month, Kuno, a member of the Forest Heights Police Department who partnered with Sgt. Grooms for years, died in the line of duty assisting the Prince George's County Police Department during a call for service. Kuno was the original, longest-standing K9 in the department. The cause of death was determined to be heatstroke while searching a school building for a burglary suspect.
