The Montgomery County Police sergeant who was run down by a reckless driver well known to the department has lost the use of both of his legs. Sgt. Patrick Kepp is hospitalized in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon after 19-year-old Frederick Rafael Mayorga took police on a wild ride and intentionally struck him in a green Dodge Charger while speeding on I-270, something he is known to do, according to Police Chief Marcus Jones. A veteran police officer with the Montgomery County Department of Police died unexpectedly, the agency announced. Police Sgt. Gregory Jordan passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9 in his home after serving the county for 30 years. At the time of his death, Jordan was assigned to the 3rd District and worked in the White Oak neighborhood. Montgomery County Distributes 50,000 Loaner Computers To Residents After $22.6M Grant
Montgomery County will provide 50,000 loaner computers to low-income and senior County residents after receiving more than $22.6 million in Digital Equity Grants, officials announce. Four "Streeteries" in Montgomery County are being reevaluated for fall as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ease, officials say.
