2,600-Gallon Fuel Tanker Overturns In Frederick County, Hazmat Crews Called To Spill
More than 2,600 gallons of fuel were at risk after a tanker truck overturned in Emmitsburg on Thursday morning, triggering a multi-agency hazmat response, fire officials said. Firefighters from Frederick County Fire & Rescue were called to the crash at North Seton Avenue and Provincial Parkway at around 7:45 a.m. on April 11. When they arrived, they found a tanker on its side with all occupants out of the vehicle. The truck was carrying about 2,600 gallons of fuel at the time of the rollover. Two police helicopters were called to the scene of a rollover crash that trapped two victims in Maryland on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3. The two-car crash was reported on Route 15 near Basford Road in Point of Rocks shortly after 1:50 p.m., Frederick County Fire & Rescue said. Two occupants were trapped following the collision, requiring a request for additional rescue squads. Two troopers were then called to land police helicopters near Route 15.
