An ex-con from Washington DC has been convicted of shooting a transgender victim following a sexual act, federal authorities announced. Jerry Tyree, who has previous weapon and drug convictions in Maryland and the District, was found guilty by a Superior Court jury of aggravated assault while armed for shooting his victim in November last year in Northeast DC. Court documents state that Tyree met his victim at the intersection of Eastern Avenue NE and Foote Street NE shortly before 2 p.m., on Nov. 29, 2023, where they negotiated a price for oral sex. Officials say that a convicted felon is heading back behind bars after being busted selling drugs and illegal “ghost guns” to an undercover agent over the course of several months. Germantown resident Dwight Luis Clarke, 32, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release after admitting to multiple counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. A convicted felon in Maryland will spend years behind bars after being caught with an illegal handgun and child pornography that was produced without his victim’s knowledge, federal officials announced. US District Judge George L. Russell, III sentenced Edgewood resident Travis Joseph Crawford, 34, to 15 years in federal prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for sexual exploitation of a child to produce child pornography and for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
