The Frederick County Health Department is cautioning that a cat found roaming the streets has tested positive for rabies. An alert was issued on Friday, Feb. 9, advising the community that a cat that was tracked down on Talbot Run Road near Black Angle Road in Frederick County has a confirmed case of the virus. A fox captured over the weekend in Frederick County has tested positive for rabies, officials said. The animal was spotted hanging around Catoctin Mountain Park and Cunningham Falls State Park near Camp Misty Mount in late June and early July, the Frederick County Health Department said. A health department in Maryland has issued an alert after receiving a report of a pet cat that tested positive for rabies. Officials advised that the Frederick County Health Department received a report that a cat that lives on Warner Road between Renner Road and Matthews Road has tested positive for the virus.
