A Culpeper man is behind bars after allegedly flashing a gun, fleeing from police, and smashing into another driver during a reckless highway pursuit, officials said.
Scott L. Wilks, 60, of Culpeper, was arrested after he allegedly sparked a fight at a business on the 700 block of Nalles Mill Road and then took off — armed and intoxicated — before crashing into another vehicle, the Culpeper Police Department said.
Police were called around 8:40 p.m. after a fight broke out between two customers. Things quickly escalated.

A pair of suspected drug traffickers were caught with a massive stash of fentanyl, cocaine, and syringes during a July 4 bust on a Virginia back road, thanks to a sharp-nosed K9 and a long-running narcotics investigation, police said.
Denvel Ball Jr., 58, of Spotsylvania, and Eric Glascock, 36, of Culpeper, were arrested after Culpeper Police Department detectives stopped their car near Ryland Chapel Road and Crookes Farm Road.
The traffic stop followed a weeks-long investigation by the Blue Ridge Narcotic and Gang Task Force.

Middle School Teacher, Wife Shot To Death In Virginia Home
A woman and her husband were both found dead inside their Culpeper home, police reported.
Stacey Garrison, 40, and Daniel Garrison, 41, were found by police inside of a home on the 15000 block of Burgandine Avenue around 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, according to the Culpeper Police Department. Police said the duo had apparent gunshot wounds and law enforcement is not looking for any persons of interest.
Daniel had been working as a science teacher at Auburn Middle School, according to InsideNOVA.com.
