A teen boy was rushed to a hospital after a shark bit him while he was on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico on Memorial Day, according to reports. The 17-year-old was boating with his father and another person offshore near Galveston, Texas, ABC13 Houston and KPRC-TV reported. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the bite at around 3:50 p.m. CDT on Monday, May 25. The teen was trying to bring the shark on board when it bit him. An explosion aboard a massive coal ship in Baltimore Harbor has shut down the Fort McHenry Federal Channel, the same stretch of water where the Key Bridge collapsed earlier this year, officials said. The Coast Guard said the blast happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, aboard the 751-foot merchant vessel W-Sapphire as it was leaving Baltimore Harbor with 23 crew members and two pilots on board. A 33-year-old Bronx, NY man has been charged with DWI in a boat explosion that forced 22 people into the water and 23 to the hospital on Saturday, June 7, officials said. Just before 9 p.m., police got a call reporting a boat fire in the Long Island Sound near Hart Island, a DCPI spokesperson said. Third Body Recovered From Baltimore Bridge Collapse
The body of a third construction worker missing in Baltimore's Key Bridge collapse has been recovered. On Friday, April 5, divers located the body of Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, 38, from the Patapsco River, Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott said. Suazo-Sandoval was one of six workers missing since the March 26 collapse. A large-scale search and rescue effort was under way Tuesday morning, March 26 in Baltimore following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Multiple cars were sent into the water below, bringing the Coast Guard and emergency response teams to the scene along Interstate 695 at approximately 1:30 a.m., when a cargo ship struck a portion of the bridge. One was a rising star mechanic, the other a young business owner with big hopes and dreams. Both Zamari Wilson, 12, and Ryan Neal, 44, drowned within hours of each other July Fourth weekend on Virginia Beach. Ryan Michael Neal's body was found in the 3400 block of Shore Drive at 4:15 pm July 3. He drowned a little over a mile away from where 12-year-old Zamari Wilson went missing earlier that day.
