A suspicious fire is under investigation in Maryland after officials were called to a Westminster development in Carroll County. Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal were called to the area of Starry Night Drive and Scarlet Sky Drive in Westminster shortly after 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, when neighbors reported a fire in construction equipment in the Stonegate Development. A Maryland man went through with threats he made toward his family, setting his sister’s house on fire in Charles County before stealing a neighbor’s vehicle and attempting to flee, the state fire marshal announced. A 15-year-old Maryland boy is facing charges for allegedly intentionally setting a Harford County barn fire that caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages, state officials announced. Juvenile Uses Sandwich Bag To Torch Montgomery County Playground: Police
A juvenile was arrested on arson-related charges after setting fire to a Poolesville playground, officials say. The suspect had set a paper bag and sandwich container on fire underneath playground equipment which ignited the play area at the park on Fisher Avenue around 5 p.m., June 5, says the Montgomery County Fire Department. The total cost of damage is over $75,000. The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.
