Maryland is mourning the loss of longtime Prince George's County Sheriff Melvin High, who died at the age of 78. High, who has been the sheriff since December 2010, has a lengthy career in law enforcement that dates back to 1969 when he joined the Metropolitan Police Department before eventually making his way to Maryland. Maryland County To Enforce Teen Curfew Amid Deadly Stretch Of Murders, Violence
Prince George’s County will begin to start strictly enforcing a teen curfew next weekend following the most violent month for the county in decades, officials say. The curfew aims to keep kids off the streets at night after August alone saw 24 murders investigated by police, states Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks.
