Townhouse Destroyed As Crews In Maryland Battle Two-Alarm Blaze (Developing)

Crews are battling a fast-moving two-alarm blaze that broke out through the roof of a Maryland townhouse, officials said.

In Frederick County, a fire was reported in the 9600 block of Ethan Ridge Drive at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, when a massive fire was reported.

According to a spokesperson from the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services, the second alarm was sounded shortly before 2:30 p.m. as the fire spread to multiple townhouses.

In photos released by first responders, one structure could be seen completely destroyed, while two neighboring units suffered varying degrees of damage from the smoke, flames, and water.

A vehicle parked outside the residence where the fire sparked was also destroyed and fully engulfed.

It is unclear what started the Frederick County fire. No injuries were initially reported.
